From natural and speciality foods to supplements and health and beauty, the Natural Products Expo is where you will find the hottest start-ups through to mere established brands that showcase the latest innovations in natural products across all categories. 

This trade show brings people and brands from all over the world to come together under one roof. Over 3,600 exhibitors, industry pioneers and more than 700 brands making their Expo West debut.

Hottest trends at Natural Products Expo:

  • Regenerative agriculture
  • Plant-based snacks
  • Gut health products that feature prebiotics, synbiotics, probiotics and postbiotics
  • Product packaging concerns
  • Brand transparency

It was a positive experience, and it was great to see brands innovating in organic and learning more about regenerative agriculture. It was a popular theme among Expo West exhibitors with food companies.

For another consecutive year, global food and drink brands have successfully brought consumers exciting new flavours from around the world – it’s all about flavours. Numerous food and nutrition experts predicted a year of new, tasty organic flavours for plant-based consumers. At the Natural Expo West event, there was a focus on healthy organic and plant-based alternatives for consumers who enjoy a guilt-free snack.

Plant-based snacks is a blooming category, it is strengthening its hold in the market, proving it’s not a trend – it’s here to stay. These new healthy and tasty alternatives are attracting a new group of consumers that are at the beginning stage of a health-conscious journey.

Consumer awareness of the importance of good digestive health has increased. Consumers are seeking foods and products that truly promote gut health. It was interesting to see and hear how companies spoke to attendees about the advantages of having a healthy digestive system as this has consistently been a squeamish discussion. Everyone knows digestive health is not just about fibre, but we got a real feel and understanding of the need for prebiotics, synbiotics, probiotics and postbiotics in our diets for good intestinal health.

Many brands also showcased transparency in their ingredients, the sourcing of the products and clear traceability. Including mission-based companies using their products to promote causes they care about. Reusable and compostable packaging is also gaining more traction.

Stand out brands at Natural West Expo were Mooala Organic Coconut Oatmilk, a new player in the organic and plant-based market, and Applegate The New Food Collective, a new premium brand that uses pasture-raised meats and small-batch production methods to create culinary-inspired products.
